Spurn National Nature Reserve is 3 miles long, made up of different habitats, landscape features (both natural and built), plus home to an abundance of wildlife. Due to its uniqueness and diversity we have a number of volunteer opportunities on offer to match the habitats, history and management of the nature reserve.

If you’re people person, you could be a Spurn Ranger and part of a team of volunteers who help to make Spurn a fantastic place to visit, you'll enjoy spending time talking to people and helping them to have an inspiring day.

Heritage and history, your thing? Well look no further as we’ve got bags of it; from maritime history and a huge Lighthouse open to the public, though to military tunnels, gunning placements and parade grounds. Much of the history is told through interpretation in the lighthouse and we need Lighthouse Volunteers to bring the story to life.

There’s also opportunities to help in our café, assist with the running of events and practical conservation task days.

Come and meet the team at an Open Day on Saturday 23rd March at the Discovery Centre Spurn and find your perfect volunteering role at Spurn. It’s our one year anniversary since we opened the new centre to the public and we’ll be holding an open day to celebrate. We’ll be combining the celebrations with the opportunity for anyone thinking of volunteering at Spurn to drop in and speak to us and some of our existing volunteers. The event will be running 11am until 3pm, so please come by and find out how you can get involved!

Role descriptions for each of the available roles can be requested form volunteering@ywt.org.uk or you can visit our webpage .
