We are looking for someone who would love to share their ideas, skills and enthusiasm with the Sustainability Team.

  • Assist the Senior Sustainability Officer in tackling fuel poverty, promoting energy efficiency and environmental sustainability to residents.
  • Perform simple home energy surveys and give advice to Peabody residents on how to manage fuel bills and heating controls across the whole Peabody property portfolio.
  • Answer queries from residents via telephone, email and in person.
  • Compile information about home energy-related issues, sustainability activities and achievements.
  • Help coordinate contact with residents, including booking advice sessions.
  • Keep databases up to date.
  • Promote energy advice service internally and to residents.

We know that your time is precious so we will work with you to make sure you to get the most out of your experience with us. To help you decide if this is the role for you, we are looking for someone who can ideally volunteer around 1 to 3 days a week between 10am–4pm. Hours are flexible and negotiable to suit. The placement will last around 3 months and can be reviewed after this time. Volunteers will be made to feel welcome and supported through regular meeting with appointed supervisor.

Ideally, we would like someone who has:  

  • Basic IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, email and internet.
  • Polite with a good telephone manner, someone who is always willing to learn.
  • With an awareness of the difficulties faced by those who are socially isolated and vulnerable and/ or have special needs.
