The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading conservation charity, caring for the long term management and conservation of woods in the Faughan Valley. As a Conservation Volunteer you could get involved with all or some of the following tasks :
The Faughan Valley runs from the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains along the beautiful River Faughan to the outskirts of Derry, Londonderry, covering some 80 square miles. Pockets of precious ancient woodland – a habitat even rarer in Northern Ireland than elsewhere in the UK – have been the inspiration for us to build a project around their protection.
Volunteers help conserve the natural beauty of the Faughan Valley by assisting the Faughan Valley project team with the practical management of the landscape with varied tasks from woodlands in Killaloo to farmland in Kilcreen.
