ARE YOU A STRATEGIC THINKER? ARE YOU A LEADER? CPRE London is actively looking for an enthusiastic supporter of green spaces in London to lead our Trustee Board and organisation to build upon our success in the planning and development of London.

CPRE is one of the largest regional branches of the national environmental chair, Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE). The "urban' character of our organisation is unique within the CPRE network. This provides the London branch with large scope to lead on London specific issues and provide expertise to support CPRE nationally in respect of the interplay between urban development and encroachment on the countryside.

The new Chair should share a passion for green spaces and sustainable urban development. The new Chair should be someone who is enthusiastic and has commitment to the following issues: PROTECT and ENHANCE the use of London's green spaces; IMPROVE London's built environment and green infrastructure; and PROMOTE public appreciation and enjoyment of London's landscapes.

The new Chair should have good leadership and communication skills to enable the organisation to implement its strategy and to be an effective advocate for CPRE London issues within the CPRE network, with London policy makers, and other like-minded organisations. Enhancing these strategic relationship and influencing policy-makers is a primary role for the next Chair of CPRE London.

The current Chair retires in May 2019. Ahead of this, we are seeking to co-opt a Trustee as 'designate Chair' who will then be proposed for election to the Char position at the May 2019 AGM.

In addition to the four quarterly board meetings, one AGM, and a one-day off-site strategy meeting, we expect the Volunteer Chair to spend approximately 6-8 days a months with other Trustees and staff in support of CPRE London. The Chair is also responsible for direct line management of the Director. This is a volunteer position.

Please read the information package on our website for a more full description of the role and the organisation.

This is a role where YOU can make a difference to the environment of Greater London.
