We are looking for a Nature's Calendar Champion - Lead Student Recorder to lead and coordinate 20 students recording events for our Nature's Calendar project.

In this role volunteers will be working with the Conservation team as a lead student recorder who will create support for Nature’s Calendar within their university. This is a pilot initiative from Nature's Calendar to work with Universities to see if this will be successful.

We envision a recording team of 20 students contributing on average 100 records per month (some months are quieter than others when this may not be achievable). The lead student will be expected to coordinate and oversee this. We see this as an opportunity for leader students to develop their skills and knowledge. This role is ideal for volunteers who want to use initiative, plan and identify how their university can contribute to Nature’s Calendar.

Nature’s Calendar is a Woodland Trust citizen science project and has been tracking species responses to climate change since 2000. We have biological records that date back to 1736. By becoming a lead recorder you’ll be contributing to the longest running data set of its kind, while also helping scientists to answer important questions regarding the effects of climate change on UK wildlife. Find out more about the project here.
