Would you like to help reduce our impact on the environment by helping others save energy? You can acquire new skills and help people to reduce their energy bills.

After a short training session and practical exercises, you will make energy advice visits to private homes and premises used by community groups, accompanied by an experienced advisor who will act as your mentor. You record each opportunity to save energy and then compile a report with recommendations and a short list of top tips.

Initially you will make home visits within the borough of Richmond in SW London, which take 1 - 2 hours and run from Oct 2018 - Apr 2019 and from Oct 2019 - Apr 2020. After a visit you record findings and create a report, working at home and at times that suit you. Later in the project, there may be opportunities to visit community buildings in Richmond and Ealing.

Visits are scheduled to fit around your availability. We need several people for this role. Reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed.

The organisation

This project is run by South West London Environment Network (SWLEN) a charity delivering energy advice. SWLEN also runs other projects that are not part of this role, such as giving support to local environmental groups. We believe that community involvement is the key to encouraging behaviour change.
