Trustee vacancy

Can you help us protect, promote and enhance the English and Welsh National Parks?

Campaign for National Parks believes that National Parks are essential to the nation’s health and well-being and an important part of our natural and cultural heritage. The Parks provide an escape from the stresses of everyday life and opportunities for a wide range of recreational activities. But they are also living landscapes, home to diverse communities and they make a significant contribution to the economy through tourism, farming and other related businesses.

While millions of people visit the National Parks every year and significant public benefits are delivered by these inspirational areas, they also face threats. 2019 is also the 70th anniversary of the legislation that created and continues to underpin the Parks and the Westminster Government recently launched a review of these beautiful and important places. This means that the role of Campaign for National Parks, as the unique charity providing an independent voice for the 13 National Parks in England and Wales, is more important than ever.

We are seeking someone to join our trustee board. That person will help us achieve our mission of inspiring everyone to look after and enjoy National Parks.

We expect all of our trustees to be strategic and forward thinking to help the organisation achieve its mission. In addition to that, we are particularly keen to recruit trustees with expertise in one or more of the following: public and social policy, communications and marketing and/or engaging with younger audiences.

For further information about the organisation, the role and how to apply please read the recruitment pack available via the 'more information' link and visit our website.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 2 September and we expect to hold interviews in our London office on Wednesday 19 September.
