Severn Rivers Trust are working on some of the most exciting river conservation projects in Europe. We are looking for a skilled volunteer to redesign our website using WordPress, making it more user friendly and improving its effectiveness as a communication tool. This is important because we work with a wide range of partners and engage communities, schools and business in what we do.

About the role

You will be working with the wider Severn Rivers Trust team to re-design the current Severn Rivers Trust website. The Trust would like the website to accurately represent what we do as an organisation, to be easily accessible for all, to inspire and educate those around us, and provide a platform to share stories, videos and news of the exciting projects we are involved with across the Severn catchment.

The role is flexible, but we ask for a commitment of a minimum of 1 day during the working week, which could be working from home or our offices in Martley near Worcester. We are looking for either a summer placement or computer science graduate with experience in WordPress, yet knowledge of the natural environment is not necessary. This is ideal for someone wanting to gain work experience behind the scenes of an active conservation charity. By taking on this project you will be helping us protect and preserve the Severn catchment and making a big difference for a small, independent charity.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of WordPress
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Self-motivated and a desire to inspire others
  • Ability to translate the ideas of the team into the website design and structure

What we can offer

This is an opportunity to work alongside a passionate team in a friendly and welcoming office environment. You will develop your skills in computer science as well as lifelong team work, communication and organisational skills. We will provide you with an opportunity to learn about river conservation in the Severn catchment and gain an insight into the work we do.

All travel expenses will be reimbursed by the Trust.
