About CDP’s water security program:

CDP is an international non-profit that drives companies and governments to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests. We leverage investor and buyer power to motivate companies to disclose and manage their environmental impacts.

CDP’s water program was launched in 2010 to improve water security by enabling the collection and provision of critical water-related data from the world’s largest corporations. This data is used to inform the global market on investment risk and commercial opportunity, and to spark private sector transformation towards improved corporate water stewardship. With the backing of 655 financial institutions with over $87 trillion in assets, the program has just completed a highly successful seventh year working with more than 4,500 of the world’s largest companies.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the team through conducting key research around the following projects:

  •  The production of industry sector by sector rationales concerning their potential to impact upon or be impacted by water issues to inform a water related impact rating methodology;
  •  The development of a new sector specific disclosure framework for the financial services sector on water security;
  •  The development of a theory of change, proving disclosure through CDP leads to better environmental outcomes.

Required skills and experience:

Essential:

  • Exceptional research, communication and written skills with meticulous attention to detail;
  • The ability to think critically and communicate complex information clearly and concisely;
  • Technologically competent: Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to meet deadlines under pressure;
  • A flexible but diligent working style with a proven record of working within a team;
  • Sound understanding of global water issues, particularly those facing the private sector.

Desirable:

  • Previous work experience in corporate sustainability or associated degree;
  • Demonstrative examples of previous research projects and written work.
