Want to make a difference to your local community? Want to help reduce pollution? We are looking for you!

We are looking for people to help promote recycling across Fenland, Cambridgeshire. We are looking for people that care about the environment to talk to people about recycling and how small changes people make can make a big difference to them and the environment.

No experience required just a willingness to learn more and to help others.

We are looking for people to help educate others about recycling by helping to run recycling events/workshops/craft sessions in the community. Or you can simply the help the people that live on your street to recycle more by helping us monitor and support recycling on your street.

How much time will you have to commit?

The role is flexible to suit you. You can give as much or as little time as you can spare.

What help will you receive?

The first step is to attend a short training session to teach you about Fenlands recycling, what rubbish goes where and how recycling in Fenland works. We have gatherings where you can meet other volunteers, swop ideas, get more information and get to know other like-minded people in your area. Your volunteer coordinator will help you establish your activity and find places to deliver them.

What is the Purpose?

Communities in Fenland are in need of help with their recycling. In Fenland 2,000 tons of recycling goes to landfill every year because people aren't recycling properly.

You will:

  • Help raise awareness of recycling locally
  • Encourage people to recycle
  • Support people in your area to recycle more by being a recycling champion to offer advice.

Experience

No experience needed just a willingness to help others. If you wish to work with children you will need to have a DBS check. We will find a role to suit most people.
