Sectors: environmental policy & campaigning

Closing date: Not specified, apply soon!

We are Scotland’s leading animal campaigning charity. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help out with our events and fundraisers. We go to national events (such as music and vegan festivals) all over Scotland to get our message out there and gain support for our campaigns. We also attend local events and organise our own, such as fundraisers and marches. This is an amazing opportunity to get involved with these and make a real difference to Scotland’s animals.

We are looking for volunteers to attend events and represent OneKind along with OneKind team members and other volunteers. You will be able to pick and choose which events you can volunteer at so this position is very flexible. We will be very grateful no matter how much time you can spare. Whether its a few days a week or a few hours a month, we want to hear from you! You will also get free time to go and enjoy the events you are at.

We will provide full training on the job. You will gain experience of engaging with the public, campaigning, membership recruiting and fundraising. You will also have the opportunity to organise your own fundraising or campaigning events if you like (e.g. a pub quiz, bake sale, charity ball). Full training and constant support will be provided for this.

About OneKind

OneKind in Scotland's leading animal campaigning charity. We are striving to end cruelty to Scotland’s animals. We expose cruelty and persecution through our investigations and research, and end it for good by giving Scotland’s animals a voice.

We are a small charity but have a big impact. Last year our successes included an end to the snaring of mountain hares and securing a ban on the use of wild animals in circuses. 2018 promises to be even bigger! By volunteering with us, you can learn new skills, meet like minded people and most importantly, make a big difference to the lives of animals.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an engaging and confident person who is enthusiastic and passionate about animal welfare. Experience of engaging with the public is preferred but not essential.

Practical Considerations

Full training will be provided on the job. Most of our events are at weekends so availability at weekend is essential. Full travel expenses are provided.
