Closing date: Friday, 31st August 2018

Over the summer holidays we will be delivering our Go Wild activities in three areas of Leeds: Bramley, Killingbeck, and Rothwell. We will be inviting young families along to get involved in our Healthy Holiday activities such as pond dipping, den building, natural crafts, nature identification games, and fun sporting activities. At all these events we will also be supplying a healthy lunch and snacks.

If you are you looking for a career in community engagement, working with children and young people or are a trainee teacher this could be a fantastic opportunity to get involved and support the local community.

There are no specific qualifications required, just an interest in working with young people and their families in an outdoor community based setting.

Practical Considerations

Groundwork NEWY is based at the Environment and Business Centre on Merlyn Rees Avenue in Morley, Leeds. We are on a direct bus route from Leeds and are only a five minute walk from Morley train station. There is also free parking available.

We will supply all equipment needed for the activities, however, you will need some sturdy shoes and practical clothing for outdoor activities.

We can cover the costs of travel up to £5.00 per day. Groundwork staff will be able to transport you to and from the activity venues.

Your days will begin at 9am and will finish at around 4pm. You can volunteer for one off sessions, or join us for a number of days or the whole week, the opportunity is flexible to meet your needs.

Bramley activities will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays starting 30th July 2018

Killingbeck activities will take place on Wednesday and Thursdays starting 1st August 2018

Rothwell activities will take place on Fridays 3rd August 2018
