The Conservation Volunteers have an opportunity for someone interested in working in the Environment sector to gain necessary experience leading practical conservation tasks with our award winning Green gym program in Walthamstow

As a Volunteer Officer you will be assisting volunteers to engage with and improve their local environment, learn about urban nature conservation and enjoy healthier lifestyles. You will play an integral part in the running of the Lloyd Park Project Including, Pre-project planning: risk assessments, site surveys, Practical nature conservation and leadership: Leading and assisting groups of volunteers from a variety of backgrounds on project days.

Our leadership program is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wishing to gain the experience vital to land a paid position working in the environmental sector. A full training package is provided including First Aid, Project Leadership, Risk Assessment, and Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups. Reasonable local travel expenses are covered and full support and mentoring is provided by the Project Officer. Within each project there is scope for you to tailor the role to your requirements; you can have a positive influence on the project’s development.

Essential to this role are excellent communication / people skills and an enthusiasm for the outdoors and the environment. If you have an interest in gaining practical conservation skills, learning about leading groups, community engagement and organising work days, this role is for you.

Acceptance as a Volunteer Officer is subject to satisfactory DBS clearance at the enhanced level.
