Volunteer Trainee Reserves Officer

Salary: This is not a salaried role but out of pocket expenses and other reasonable expenses are paid as agreed with the Estates Manager

Location: Lower House Farm, Ledbury Road, Tupsley, Hereford, HR1 1UT or Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum, Dinmore Hill, Nr Leominster, HR6 0PY with travel across the county.

Herefordshire Wildlife Trust is seeking Volunteer Trainee Reserves Officers to join its Landscapes department.

This role offers an opportunity to gain practical work experience and training in practical and applied conservation work with a Wildlife Trust in beautiful Herefordshire. The role will see successful applicants working on the Trust’s 50+ different nature reserves, including Queenswood Country Park and Bodenham Lake, and is the ideal first step in gaining a career in conservation while making a positive contribution to the conservation of Herefordshire’s habitats and species.

A formal qualification (degree or similar) in a biological/environmental science or countryside management, a basic knowledge of habitat management principles, and some experience of practical conservation are desirable, but not essential, as all necessary training will be given.

Interviews will be held on: Tuesday 29th May 2018 at Queenswood
