Closing date: Tuesday, 8th May 2018

This is a great opportunity for a hard working, practical and enthusiastic individual to join our North Devon Ranger team.

Situated within the spectacular North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty we manage over 3,000 acres of farmland, coastal heath, parkland, culm grassland, salt marsh and woodland habitats, with many areas designated SSSI for their flora & fauna.

Based on the coast at Brownsham the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to develop invaluable skills in countryside management, assisting our Ranger team in habitat management, wildlife surveys, estate maintenance, community projects and events, helping to “grow the nation’s love of special places”. You will be closely supported by the Ranger team, with practical skills training provided in house and opportunities to work across the North Devon property which stretches from the Cornish border to Exmoor. Certified training, including: Brushcutters, First Aid, 4×4 Off road driving and other courses will also be available.

Candidates must be enthusiastic with an interest in the environment and conservation. A relevant degree / diploma / NVQ is desirable, but not essential. The post would suit those of a very practical nature, who are physically fit and enjoy working outdoors. A full clean driving licence and commitment of 4 days a week for a minimum period of 6 months minimum is essential. Available to start in May/June.

Free shared accommodation is provided.
