Cumbria Wildlife Trust is seeking to appoint a Volunteer Assistant Warden for South Walney. This residential volunteer placement will give you the unique opportunity to develop conservation skills and knowledge on one of Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s flagship reserves.

The role will start May 2018 and run for a minimum of 3 months with extensions possible.

Pay: This is a voluntary position.

Accommodation is provided on site.

Throughout the busy summer season, you will have a unique opportunity to live amongst the birds, seals and otters of the South Walney nature reserve. You will work alongside the warden and gain valuable experience and practical qualifications in habitat management, wildlife monitoring, reserve maintenance and visitor work. This post is ideal for anyone with a background in conservation, the ability to inspire people about the local environment and the drive to develop themselves in this fantastic setting.
