Severn Rivers Trust is looking for a friendly person with good organisational skills to support the administration of our small but active river conservation charity.

About the role

You will be working closely with the Trust's Administration Officer in the day-to-day running of the office - dealing with incoming and outgoing post, answering calls and monitoring stationery supplies and maintaining a clean and safe office environment. You will also assist with database management and administrative systems that support our project work.

The role is flexible and will require a commitment of around 1 day during the working week. No prior experience is required but a desire to help and a belief in the importance of the work of the Trust is essential. This is ideal for someone wanting to gain experience behind the scenes of an active conservation charity, or someone who has worked in an administrative role and wants to use their skills to support the protection and preservation of the Severn catchment.

Essential Skills

  • Friendly and approachable manner
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Desire to learn about the work of the charity, how to work with our office equipment & how to manage administrative systems
  • Basic IT skills (e.g. confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)

What we can offer

This is an opportunity to work alongside passionate project officers in a friendly and welcoming office environment. You will learn about river conservation in the Severn catchment and gain an insight into the work we do.

The Trust invests in staff and volunteers alike and you will be given all the training required to work in our office including safety & first-aid. All travel expenses will be reimbursed by the Trust.
