Do you have a passion for nature that you can't resist sharing with others? Can you inspire the next generation of conservationists and re-connect communities with their natural landscapes?

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is creating a Yorkshire rich in wildlife and helping people to see that nature matters to everyone. At our Potteric Carr nature reserve we connect families with nature through wild play and forest tot sessions as well as inspire local schools to understand how nature affects their lives from the reed beds that clean our water to the species that are right on their doorstep. Volunteers run the majority of these events and we're looking for passionate, inspiring volunteers to share the wonders of nature with others.

As an Inspiring People Leader you will lead activities, representing Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, and sharing your passion for nature with others providing a high quality visitor experience. You will a small team of volunteers who will work together to deliver these activities.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver professional, high standard events to a wide range of people
  • Lead activities such as pond dipping, minibeast hunts, bushcraft and wild play
  • Be responsible for the safety of participants and volunteers
  • Perform first aid if needed (with training as required)
  • Prepare and pack away equipment, resources and room space before and after events
  • Ensure participants have a great time with us by sharing your knowledge of nature and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust
  • Promote the Trust wherever possible

Commitment: One or two days (weekend or week day) per month
