Love nature? Have a passion to engage children with wildlife? Help us engage primary school children with wildlife and allow them to experience learning in an outdoor environment here at RSPB Dungeness.

To help us deliver environmental education at our reserves we need you to deliver fun and exciting activities as part of out of classroom learning. Our Schools on Reserves programme aims to give schoolchildren the chance to experience nature first-hand and you can be part of that exciting journey of discovery! We are engaging with local Primary Schools, teaching Key Stage 1 and 2 children about pond habitats and identifying birds through the use of binoculars. Focusing on curriculum-linked activities such as discovering food chains and using keys to identify pond minibeasts you will be expected to lead a 2 hour school session with help from the class teachers.

RSPB Dungeness nature reserve, a beautiful and rugged wildlife haven, is an excellent and inspiring place for the education of young people. With its colourful history of use as a bombing range and a quarry, RSPB Dungeness now has worldwide status for its rare habitats and is an important stopping place for migrating birds. It offers visiting schools the chance to study many different habitats including wetland shingle habitats and wildflower meadows.
