Edventure Frome Community Interest Company

Frome, Somerset

Volunteer • Part Time Amelia Parisian

Sectors: sustainability

Closing date: Monday, 18 December 2017

We are looking for a team of 10 volunteers to help transform Edspace into a sustainable social enterprise that enables low impact living and helps tackle the housing crisis. Volunteers will join the edventure: START-UP course and can gain experience in social enterprise and a professional qualification in entrepreneurship. The programme will start January 22nd 2018 and run for 10-weeks, part-time. As a team of volunteers and students, you will be guided through the basics of setting up a social enterprise, putting what you learn into practice. Through this process you can learn about fundraising, community engagement, market research, business planning, design thinking and marketing. You will have the hands-on opportunity to design, build and make a tiny house interior. Your team will be given an empty Edspace at the beginning of the course to kit out.

The programme will be a particularly useful experience not only for people who are interested in low-impact living or want to build tiny houses, but anyone who is interested in working in a social enterprise, community initiative or green business.

The volunteering programme is run by edventure: Frome CIC and is unique as it includes comprehensive training and a professional qualification. Please apply through the edventure: START-UP website.
