The Gibbon Rehabilitation Project is part of the Wild Animal Rescue Foundation of Thailand and is based in Phuket. It was started in 1992 with the aim of protecting the endangered, native gibbon species, the White-handed gibbon. We work to rescue gibbons from the illegal pet and tourism trade, rehabilitate them at our centre and release them back into the forest, reviving the wild population size.

Volunteers needed for a minimum of 2 weeks, long stances preferred.

You will work six days a week and will be involved in many aspects of the project including:

- physical work, animal care, enrichment and maintenance work at the rehabilitation and rest sites
- observation of released gibbons in the forest
- data collection
- preparation for new releases (cutting trails, building acclimation cages)
- public engagement at the education centre
- PR and office work

Personal Requirements:  Volunteers are welcomed from a variety of backgrounds as specialist skills are always needed.
