Volunteer Grounds & Exhibit Maintenance Assistant
WWT
We’re WWT, and we’re on a mission to restore the super-powered ecosystems we call wetlands. There’s never been a more important moment for our work, and we’ve got some phenomenal people on the case.
Whether they’re taking a new visitor under their wing, or conducting ground-breaking research further afield, our team are second to none. And there’s nothing we love more than watching them soar.
Whatever you do here, you’ll be helping to restore wetlands and unlock their power. So, the only question left is, what role will you play?
As a Grounds & Exhibit Volunteer, you'll get involved with:
- Weeding of exhibits
- Cutting back of vegetation in and around exhibits
- Helping us maintain our visitor infra structure to a high standard including path clearance and furnishings.
- Maintaining and improving pond areas and fence lines
- Occasional tasks may include building of nest boxes, feeders and animal shelters; animal care assistance; construction of ponds and enclosures
- Working in the fresh air with like minded people
- Exercise and all round fitness with a great view
- Being part of a small and friendly team
- Training in use of tools and vehicles
- Suitable uniform is provided to all regular volunteers
- Discount is available in the café and shop on the days of volunteering
