Volunteer Ecology Wildlife Trainee 2025
Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust
Are you looking for your first role in ecology or the environmental sector and need to gain some experience?
If so, our Volunteer Ecology Wildlife Trainee positions with the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust may be just what you need. Over 80% of our previous Volunteer Wildlife Trainees now have jobs in the environmental sector.
As a Volunteer Ecology Wildlife Trainee, you will gain valuable practical experience with the Ecology Team and the Mammal Team surveying and monitoring the wildlife and habitats on the Trust’s nature reserves and in the wider countryside.
You will assist with the Trust’s Water Vole Recovery Project by carrying out Water Vole surveys and monitoring mink activity. There will also be an opportunity to assist with the Trust’s badger vaccination project as well as gain experience of the work of our inhouse ecological consultancy, Future Nature.
Office work will involve the management of survey data with an emphasis on data entry. Trainees committing to the full 12 months will have the opportunity to undertake survey data analysis.
The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) is a membership-based voluntary organisation, managing over 80 nature reserves, influencing land management and educating and encouraging all sectors of the community to care for local wildlife.
