Nature Discovery Centre (NDC) Trailside Ambassador
Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust
We are seeking friendly and enthusiastic people to engage with the public about nature whilst walking the trails. Our ambition is to excite people about the habitat and occupants at the Nature Discovery Centre, provoke their passion and inspire people to protect the place and the nature within.
Trailside Ambassadors also serve as our eyes and ears of the trails, as they are observant of any invasive species that we may have and inform of us of any work that needs doing e.g. fences, Himalayan Balsam growing, litter issues etc.
You would set up a trailside station with the kits provided and engage visitors as they pass, including offering advice on where to walk in the local area and answering questions about NDC.
This role would require you to walk the trails to engage people about nature, local species, and fun facts, as well as encouraging the protection of nature within NDC and at home. Therefore, you must be a great communicator and possess basic knowledge of nature, although some training will be given.
An informal interview and basic DBS check is required for this role.
