Volunteer Ranger - The Regent's Park

The Royal Parks

The Regent's Park, London

Volunteer • Part Time

Sectors: conservation & wildlife

Closing date: Sunday, 30th June 2024

The Royal Parks are vital green spaces for both people and wildlife. Each has its own captivating story, as well as a small army of dedicated volunteers that play a vital role in helping us promote and protect these remarkable places.

Once used by King Henry VIII as a hunting ground, The Regent's Park is now a mix of large open spaces with tree-lined pathways, sports facilities, formal gardens, children’s playgrounds, boating lake, meadows, woodlands and wetlands, and visited by over 8 million people per year!

The role of the Volunteer Rangers is to engage with visitors, ensuring they get the most out of their experience. This could be sharing fascinating facts about the park's social and natural heritage, providing tips on the best walking or cycling routes, advice on how we can help wildlife thrive, promoting events and activities in the park, or keeping the public informed on any exciting developments taking place on site.

Volunteer Ranger sessions are 90 minutes long, and offered on weekends and bank holidays as well as on appropriate weekdays - the role is flexible, so you choose what sessions you are able to attend, although we do ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of two sessions per month.
