Who are we?

At CPRE London we campaign to save and promote green spaces in Greater London and make London a better, greener and healthier place for everyone to live in, work in and enjoy.

We are part of the national network of CPRE, the countryside charity.

What will you be doing?

Helping build the team – helping us track down talented people who bring key skills to the team

  • Strengthening training and induction systems
  • Creating a positive environment and recognising volunteers for their contribution – so people want to stay involved
  • Helping to coordinate the work of the volunteer team – especially in relation to supporting events such as nature walks and hands-on planting or environmental improvement work
  • Also supporting staff in relation to encouraging them to access training and shaping a positive culture within the organisation

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with HR knowledge and ideally, someone with experience in either being a volunteer or supporting other volunteers.

  • An interest in the countryside and environmental issues
  • Previous experience of being a volunteer or supporting volunteers
  • A friendly personality and an ability to relate to people from different backgrounds
  • Good organisational skills and confidence in the use of online systems
  • Self-starter, happy carrying out tasks independently or as part of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Access to a computer and the internet at home and be confident using them
  • Be able to commit to volunteering regularly to suit your availability with occasional attendance at meetings

Benefits of the role

  • Use your skills and experience to contribute to the success of our charity and make a positive difference to London’s green spaces and the countryside
  • Meet like-minded people and enjoy being part of a team
  • Enhance your CV by developing new skills and gaining valuable experience
  • We’ll support you to develop in your volunteering role and provide you with relevant training
  • We’ll give you a reference for your future work or volunteering
  • Get involved with events and workshops on a local and national level
  • The opportunity to attend a volunteer induction day at CPRE’s national office in London or a regional centre
  • We provide out-of-pocket travel expense

How to apply

The deadline for applications is 7th June, but we would encourage interested individuals to apply before the stated deadline, as we are keen to recruit as soon as possible, so may appoint early if a suitable applicant is identified.

Please apply by sending a CV and a cover letter to [email protected], outlining how your skills and experience match the role description and demonstrating your interest in the work of CPRE London.
