Could you be our next Treasurer?

About the role

We’re looking for a Treasurer who will play an active part in the governance of our organisation’s finances and provide leadership and strategic direction for our ambitious and growing organisation.

Our Trustees bring a wide range of skills, knowledge and enthusiasm and we want to add to this to further support and promote our work. We are specifically looking for someone with:

  • Financial experience in a senior finance role and relevant financial qualifications egg ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT or similar
  • Skills to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences

It is also desirable if you have experience in Charity Finance although this is not essential.

More information can be found in the Trustee Recruitment Pack on our website.

About Derbyshire Wildlife Trust

We’re a growing charity committed to achieving a vision of a Wilder Derbyshire.

As are a registered Charity, we are supported by over 17,000 members and are part of a movement of 46 Wildlife Trusts.

Our purpose is to achieve our vision of a Wilder Derbyshire by creating Nature Recovery Networks, rewilding, and reintroducing lost species. As more people connect with wildlife, we’re working to build a strong, cohesive movement, inspiring people and communities to care and mobilising people to act. All our work is underpinned by our values.

Our Charity is growing, we currently employ 85 people and, crucially, we are supported by over 500 volunteers.

We recognise that there are barriers within our society that can prevent some communities and people from engaging with the opportunities we offer. We strive to offer opportunities for engagement, participation and employment to achieve equality. In particular, our focus is on dismantling barriers for those from Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority backgrounds and LGBTQ+ people, so everyone can feel more welcome.

We wholeheartedly believe that nature belongs to everyone.
