Could you work on a range of projects across Dumfries & Galloway to enhance native woodland, through creation and restoration, and by highlighting the benefits of native woodland for people, nature and climate?

Could you support the establishment of a new organisation to represent native woodland in the region?

If so, this full-time role on an initial three-year contract, could be for you...

This new role, supported by local and national organisations, will lead on native woodland creation schemes and support native tree programmes across Dumfries & Galloway. It is envisaged that, as well as leading delivery of a number of initiatives, this role will support the establishment of ‘Dumfries & Galloway Woodlands’ as a separate, not-for-profit organisation, building on an identified gap of provision locally.

The successful candidate for this new post will report to a steering group of funding partners and will be focussed on native trees in Dumfries & Galloway.

The role involve a balance between home, office and outdoor work, requiring candidates with a mix of skills including outstanding communication; an aptitude for ‘hands on’ outdoor conservation; and a passion for working with people.
