Forestry Assistant

Cawdor Forestry is a respected & innovative forestry consultancy, specialising in providing quality forest management services to a diverse range of clients. These include some of the most significant private estates in the North East of Scotland.

We are seeking an additional member of staff to join the team who will assist our Forest Managers by:

  • Carrying out a variety of survey works, which could include.
    • Monitoring & reporting on establishment of trees
    • GPS survey/ground truthing
    • Peatland/woodland surveys & vegetation checking
    • Measuring trees for harvesting
  • Organising and supervising forestry and contract work

Initially this is a 1-year contract, but with the potential for longer term work & career progression.

The ideal candidate is likely to be:

  • Bright & mature in outlook.
  • Practical and adaptable in nature, and happy to work outdoors.
  • Interested in forestry & woodlands.
  • Want to work in a small business involved in an interesting mix of projects.
  • Able to communicate to a wide range of people.
  • Have an eye for detail and recognise quality.
  • Able to work as part of a professional & friendly team.
  • Unlikely to ever say that’s not my job.
  • Want to live and work in an exceptional part of the world with surfing, mountain biking and mountains on your doorstep.
  • Based at Cawdor, Nairn
  • Driving licence essential
  • Salary dependent on experience
