We are looking for a passionate and experienced person to join our Communities and Wildlife
Team at the Great Fen in Cambridgeshire to lead on developing and delivering innovative
community engagement and education programmes.
We want to inspire and increase the involvement of local communities in the enjoyment, learning
and participation of nature and health and wellbeing initiatives.
The role will include:
- Developing and delivering community engagement activities, including events to increase the
involvement of local communities in the enjoyment, learning and participation at the Great Fen
and surrounding communities.
- Leading on developing and delivering nature themed programmes including Forest Schools for
Primary schools and youth groups such as scouts, guides, cubs etc.
- Assisting with researching, developing and delivering inset/CPD programmes for teachers,
teaching assistants and youth workers.
- Planning, promoting and overseeing the day-to-day organisation, delivery and evaluation of
programmes.
- Supporting young people (aged 11 to 24) to take positive action for wildlife through our
three counties Young People’s Forum.
- Ensuring the Health and Safety of all participants, including writing and checking risk
assessments for the sites, tools and activities used.
- Helping to recruit, train and coordinate volunteers to support delivery.
- Helping to develop opportunities to maximise income into the Wildlife Trust through
membership and fees.
