Outdoor Learning Leader

Campbell Park Pavilion, Milton Keynes

Salary: Up to £27,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week across weekdays, with some evenings and weekends, (term time only will be considered on a pro rata salary).

About Us

The Parks Trust is an independent charity that cares for over 6,000 acres of parkland and green space in Milton Keynes. This includes the river valleys, ancient woodlands, lakesides, parks and landscaped areas alongside the main roads that represent 25% of the city.

Our aim is to provide beautiful, diverse and sustainable parks, lakes, woods and landscapes that will be loved by the people of Milton Keynes, forever.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to join our established outdoor learning team in a role that delivers high quality sessions, workshops, talks, guided walks and presentations to people of all ages. This includes working with schools, adults and community groups linked to our Outdoor Learning Strategy. The aim is to increase awareness of our parks and raise our profile within our local communities whilst promoting a greater awareness of our natural environment and green estate across the city.

You will develop and lead in delivering pre-school sessions, support the team with the development of a wider environmental education programme and represent the Trust at external and internal events.

About You

We are looking for someone with a passion for working outdoor and learning new skills, who has an ability to explain ideas and enthuse others, particularly young people. A keen interest and very good knowledge of the natural environment is essential, and you will need a full driving licence and be subject to a DBS check.

Previous experience of working with children and the general public would be advantageous along with experience of delivering training/teaching.
