Position: Production Assistant
Based: EJF office in London
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary range: £25,000 - £28,000 pa (dependent upon experience)

Position overview
The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) is a UK registered non-profit organisation working
internationally to protect natural environments and the human rights of people who depend on
them. This is an exciting opportunity to join the EJF film team as a Production Assistant,
supporting the video producers to create impactful films across a range of campaigns.
Key responsibilities:
- Pre-production research tasks such as desk-based location scouting, logistics planning and
producing concise briefs for other team members, citing key facts and sources
- Fact-checking and proofreading
- Sourcing and arranging interviews with contributors
- Sourcing archive, fair-use footage and music for editors
- Selecting highlights from rushes and compiling clip reels from footage and producing
assembly cuts
- Preparing graphics, text, subtitles, and making amendments following feedback
- Producing high-quality, engaging videos for social media, events and screenings
- Management of the digital photo library on Pics.IO – processing RAW photos,
uploading to the library, organising collections, and tagging images
- Assisting Video Producers and Editors in managing day-to-day activities to streamline the
post-production process
Essential skills and attributes:
- You enjoy research and understand the fundamental need for attention to detail and factual
accuracy
- You are able to deliver agreed outcomes on time and on budget, at times managing multiple
projects and tight deadlines and you are able to prioritise your workload
- You are entirely comfortable taking direction and feedback, working in a team, with equal
ability to work independently, taking initiative and responsibility
- You are creative with a keen eye for detail
- You have an interest and understanding of the campaigns EJF works on
- You are highly organised with an understanding of editing workflows and file structuring
- You have an understanding of video codecs and formats
- You understand social media trends and formats
- You are proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro
Desirable skills:
- Experience with Audition, After Effects, Lightroom or Photoshop
- Camera experience
