Role Purpose

Are you informed and passionate about the environment in Wales? Do you enjoy supporting and working collaboratively with a wide range of people? If so, then we’ve got the job for you!

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised team player to be part of a team of land use planning, energy and landscape advisors. You will help us to deliver our Planning, Landscape and Energy programme in NRW. This programme brings together our advice and evidence in these three areas, to support the sustainable management of natural resources and natural beauty. Work will include supporting:

  • design, delivery, review and monitoring of projects across the programme
  • governance and programme delivery groups
  • monitoring and review of the Planning, Landscape and Energy programme

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Knowledge of: Welsh, UK and EU legislation related to the environment; Welsh, UK Government policy drivers in conservation, planning and management; and the issues and opportunities in Wales.
  2. An understanding of the sustainable management of natural resources.
  3. Experience of technical analysis and interpretation of a range of environmental information and data.
  4. Working with/in environmental stakeholder organisations, such as industry bodies or environmental NGOs.
  5. Strong and effective self-management, team-working, communication and organisational skills
  6. Working in a programme and project management environment with Project Management experience and/or qualifications.
  7. Working towards professional membership or aspiration to become a professional member of a relevant institution.
  8. Share your knowledge and expertise to help solve problems, supporting all Heads of Business in EPP as required.
