Closing date: Monday, 27th June 2022   Closes today

Do you want to be part of one of the largest and most ambitious Community Forest programmes in the UK helping to establish over 1000ha of new woodland in The Mersey Forest?

There is significant national and local support for new woodland planting and an increased focus on trees and woodlands as part of our response to the climate emergency.

We have an exciting, but challenging, opportunity to accelerate the creation of The Mersey Forest.

If you are keen to take up the challenge and are looking for a rewarding career that will help make a lasting difference to local communities, to the economy and to the environment, we want to hear from you.

You will bring inspiration, innovation and practical tree planting, woodland establishment, and management knowledge to help deliver The Mersey Forest vision. We have many schemes underway that will need immediate, knowledgeable input to guide and support landowners. We also have ambitions to develop many more schemes to help deliver our Forest Plan aspirations and help tackle the climate and ecological emergency.

You will have a degree in Forestry or land management subject, or equivalent experience, with a good knowledge of funding and project management and a commitment to high quality silviculture and project delivery.

You will need to show that you have good experience of dealing with clients and partner organisations. You will need to be target focused, positive, prepared to innovate, and have a 'can do' mentality.

This post is employed through Community Forest Trust, working as part of The Mersey Forest Team, and based at Risley Moss, Warrington. It is likely that hybrid working will continue with home and office working. The role is a full time (36 hours per week), fixed term position until April 2025, with an expectation of renewal based on performance and funding being available.

Closing date: Midnight Monday 27th June 2022 with anticipated interview date Thursday 12th July.
