About the Role
We now have a number of unique opportunities for talented Engineers to join our team working with local communities to design and deliver outstanding cycling and walking infrastructure.
We have an exciting ambition to ensure all people live in a city where our streets and public spaces serve everyone. Cities and Towns where everyone can live and travel safely and healthily, and where nobody is excluded.
By providing best-practice street design from conception to delivery, you’ll help us in our vision to allow everyone to travel in ways that benefit their health and wellbeing; creating healthier, happier cities that are accessible to all.
What our staff have to say:
“I like the fact that we get the opportunity to work on more than just the design aspects - you get the chance to be involved with project management, communities and stakeholders, and overseeing construction too. A lot of our projects are small so you really can see the progression from start to finish, and the difference that our schemes make to the communities where they are located. Finally, engineering at Sustrans is engineering without compromise - I know that without exception, every project I work on will have at its heart the aim to improve places and spaces for everyone.” - Katrina Adams, Sustrans Engineer, England North
We have three office hubs, Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds. Ideally we’d like you to be within a sensible commutable distance of these, but we’re also hybrid working so nowhere within the region is too remote or too far.
About You
We are looking for a talented designer who is passionate about infrastructure design, someone who would like the freedom to express themselves creatively.
If you want to enhance your existing skills and develop new ones – we will support your professional development towards incorporated or chartered status.
So, if this sounds like you, apply today and help us create healthier places and happier lives for everyone.
We are committed to ensuring our team represents the diverse range of communities we work with across the region. As such, we particularly encourage and welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, particularly from under-represented groups. As an organisation, Sustrans is committed to reducing inequality, valuing diversity and enabling inclusion.
What we offer
