Cycle Confident is London’s most innovative and largest cycle training provider. Our aim is to unlock London by empowering everyone to cycle confidently and safely. Working with boroughs, businesses and others, we deliver a range of cycle training, cycle maintenance, and related services.

The Role

We are currently looking for an Office Manager to help support our growing business. You will be tasked with taking on a variety of challenges and tasks both big and small. This is an important position within the business where you will be relied upon for a wide range of support. What’s more, there is plenty of scope to develop and grow in your role and take on more responsibilities, meaning this is the perfect position in which to develop a career that lasts into the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the business on a daily basis - for calls, emails, and visitors to the office - resolving queries where possible or passing on to the appropriate person
  • Keep the office running smoothly, anticipating needs, working with vendors to order equipment and supplies, tracking related expenses, and maintaining business records
  • Make agreed purchases (e.g. consumables and equipment) in a timely manner, within budget, and process deliveries. Ensure invoices are delivered to the Finance Manager
  • General office administration including handling post, photocopying, filing and liaising with the office management company
  • Ensure that the office spaces are kept clean and tidy
  • Play a key role in the induction of new employees; provide health & safety induction for new team members
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for cycle instructors and mechanics
  • Establish effective administrative procedures including for the certifications that the cycle instructors and mechanics have to maintain
  • End to end administration of the Ofqual regulated 1st4sport courses delivered by our Recognised Delivery Centre

This is not an exhaustive list of duties. You will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your evolving role within the organisation and the business objectives of the organisation.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience


  • Strong verbal and written communication including being able to convey information to a varied audience in a clear, concise and personable manner
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal staff, instructors, suppliers and other key stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, be organised and work well under pressure
  • Strong time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Punctual, tidy, and diligent
  • Trustworthy with financial matters and confidential or sensitive information
  • IT literate especially in the use of standard office packages such as email, Word and Excel. Able to pick up new systems quickly and confidently
  • A proactive, self-motivated nature. For example: looks for more efficient ways of doing things; keeps chasing where action is required by others; will make things happen
  • Keeps management informed of progress and will flag up issues in a timely manner
  • Will bring a positive attitude to the business


  • Experience working in or with schools
  • Experience administering Ofqual regulated courses
  • Experience conducting inductions
  • Excellent Excel skills

Position details

  • Full-time position (40 hours/week)
  • Salary: £24,000 (above London Living Wage)
  • The post holder will be required to work from the office in South London, near Oval tube station. Occasional home working whilst still meeting business needs is possible
  • Post holder needs to occasionally be able to work flexible hours and attend meetings but the work is mainly normal office hours
  • Access to purchase a wide range of cycling products at heavily discounted rates
