Work Location: Elizabeth II Court, Winchester (hybrid working (office and remote) with some occasional travel to other organisations offices for meetings)
Hours per Week: 25 (Hours can be negotiated)

Growth is firmly on the agenda and there are exciting times ahead for Hampshire County Council’s Environmental Impact Assessment team. We are part of a large, integrated, multi-disciplinary team offering a range of specialist environmental services to the County Council and other public authorities. We work closely with Engineering Consultancy, HCC’s in-house engineering specialists, supporting the delivery of a vast range of infrastructure projects across Hampshire and beyond by matching a commercial sector approach to a public sector brief.

Reporting to the EIA Project Manager this role will be responsible for supporting the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments and other related environmental assessments. The role requires support for infrastructure projects to ensure development is compliant with environmental regulations and legislation.

We are looking for a candidate who can help prepare consent applications for development which require EIA or other types of environmental assessment, offer advice on EIA best practice, and can undertake reviews of Environmental Statements. Experience in Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) would be desirable.

This post is directly funded by the income generated from work for internal and external clients. Therefore, you will require a high degree of commercial acumen, the ability to build and develop existing business relationships and to grow new areas of work for the Environmental Services team across a portfolio of traded services. This will be a challenging role for a highly motivated, proactive individual with a strong work ethic, flexible attitude and the ability to confidently engage with a wide range of contacts at all levels.
