💚 About Us:

Force of Nature started with a simple realisation: that the threat even greater than the climate crisis is how powerless we feel in the face of it. Strong emotions in the face of climate change are a normal, rational response to the crisis; but they can shut us down when we tip into despair and denialism.

We recognise a need for a global community of activated individuals, who aren’t scared to talk about how climate change makes them feel. Young people who are rewriting their climate stories to be ones of hope and resilience; and decision-makers giving us a seat at the table.

We called for a revolution in mindset. Now, a year in, we’re reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve taken - and all of the friends we’ve found along the way.

💜 The Role:

Ready to join the Force of Nature team?

Deadline: We are accepting applications on a rolling basis - apply soon!

The role: Force of Nature is recruiting for a Programme Manager (internally: “Vine Manager”) to manage our fast-growing community of young people (”the Vine”). You will be responsible for overseeing training pathways for Vine members; being the main point of support and contact; and liaising with our partnerships team to coordinate opportunities for Vine members to deliver Force of Nature services (public speaking, consulting decision-makers, and facilitating programmes).

Are you:

  • Process-orientated, with a keen eye for detail?
  • Experienced in project management, including coordinating multiple tasks and people at once?
  • A strong communicator and relationship-builder?

Salary: £23,000 pro-rata* (+ benefits)

Hours: 30 hours (4 days per week)

Note: FoN are currently piloting a 4 day work week until the end of June. If the pilot is adopted permanently, your salary would no longer be calculated pro-rata, and you would receive the full £23,000, starting from July.

As our Programme Manager, you’ll be the champion of our community of young people - responsible for supporting them through training programmes, coordinating them into paid opportunities, and keeping a pulse on their needs & feedback.

You’ll be engaging with our community of young people from around the globe on Slack, managing onboarding and day-to-day engagement. This requires the management of clear systems and processes. For new community members, you’ll support them through our training pathways, working closely with the 3 training Leads for the Dais (Speaker’s Agency), the Meadow (Programme Facilitation) and the Canopy (Business Consultancy Network). Once Vine members have graduated, you’ll work closely with our Partnerships team to connect our community to paid opportunities.

In this role, you’ll also be taking responsibility for the delivery of our COP27 strategy, which is centred around platforming young voices in decision making rooms across the world, sitting alongside our wider Vine strategy.

You’ll be the point-person for everything community-related, ensuring that the young people who work with us are well taken care of. This role requires a willingness to stretch yourself, work with multiple teams, and be highly self-motivated.

  • Develop a process for managing incoming opportunities for licensed community members incoming from our Partnerships team
  • Ensure all Licensed community members have paid opportunities for speaking engagements, delivery of programmes, and consulting businesses through working with our Partnerships team
  • Streamline administrative processes to enable community management to be efficient yet highly-personalised to each individual
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our community (The Vine)
  • Establish a core engagement strategy for our FoN Slack community, including onboarding processes
  • Manage the community during trainings, working closely with the training Leads
  • Work with Marketing & Communications manager on a strategy to recruit young people to our community & trainings
  • Project manage the delivery of our COP27 strategy

Experience & key qualifications

Traditional qualifications are not necessary but experience is a must (no matter how unconventional). This includes:

  • Being highly self-motivated in a fast-paced work environment
  • Familiarity with Notion software or other CRM softwares, particularly database creation/management (desirable)
  • An ability to look at a system or process and see opportunities to optimise; then deliver these changes
  • Team and project management, delivering big goals to firm timelines
  • Strong in written and verbal communication

We’re not looking for an expert in all areas, but someone willing and motivated to learn on the job; who is invested in the long-term success of Force of Nature as a mission-driven organisation.
