The Norfolk and Suffolk Brecks is a very special part of East Anglia with a unique heritage. Working with partners, communities and volunteers, the Brecks Fen Edge and Rivers (BFER) Landscape Partnership will deliver 24 key projects to explore and celebrate its diverse landscape and history.

This role is a great opportunity to join the Brecks' Fen Edge and Rivers Landscape Partnership delivery team as a Partnership Project Officer. We are a small team who are based at The Carnegie, Thetford with hybrid working.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will work as part of the core BFER delivery and administration team to:

•  provide support for the Scheme Manager and partners in the delivery of the Landscape Conservation Action Plan
• deliver delegated parts of the work programme and ensure the smooth running of partner-led projects to an agreed activity plan and timetable, ensuring that outputs, feedback and costs are delivered and evidenced to the required standards. This will include producing and presenting regular reports to the Partnership board
• support the development of new projects as part of the BFER third Party Grant Scheme and promote the scheme to diverse audiences at events including talks to local interest groups and schools. Support the wider BFER team and liaise with partners as required to achieve the aims and objectives of the scheme within budget and on time.

Your role will be crucial in linking together activities across the projects being delivered by our partners and ensuring a successful legacy for the partnership.

You will need:

• a degree or equivalent in a related field with demonstrable experience of environmental, heritage or countryside management; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
• proven, wide-ranging experience in a relevant area of work (e.g. Partnership working, grant-funded project delivery, working with school and/or communities, managing complex multi-project schemes)
• excellent diplomatic, interpersonal and communication skills – to effectively manage relationships with a wide range of partners, and develop strong working relationships with colleagues
• the willingness to travel to meetings/events and work occasional unsocial hours during school holidays, at weekends or evenings.

• the BFER team is responsible for coordinating and supporting delivery of the £3.5M Lottery funded BFER scheme
