The principal functions of this position are to carry out environmental and geotechnical monitoring and sampling, as well as data management and reporting.

WJ Groundwater offers an extensive training and development program which will commence after individuals complete their probationary period. Company induction, initial basic training & PPE issue will be provided from commencement of your employment. A suitable vehicle will also be provided.

Reports / Responsible to: Monitoring Engineer (Line Manager)

Key areas of responsibility

• Attend site to obtain groundwater samples.
• Operate sampling equipment.
• Liaising with third parties to arrange site access.
• Other geotechnical monitoring requirements associated with our works.
• Liaise with clients.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ability to use computer for email, MS Word and Excel.
• CSCS card is required
• A valid driving license is required, a vehicle will be provided.
• Awareness of geotechnical sampling and testing is bennificial but not essential.
• Site experience useful, but not essential.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills and written communication skills.
• Resourcefulness, initiative and the ability to work unsupervised.
• Demonstrate problem solving skills and a practical mindset.

A motivated and hardworking individual is essential for this position. The position requires the candidate to hold a full valid UK driving license.

Working Conditions

Working with WJ colleagues and our clients associated with groundwater monitoring in both outdoor & indoor environments. Site locations are from Aylesbury at the south section of the project and Royal Leamington Spa at the north section. The candidate would be required to travel to site locations between the two. Though flexibility to travel throughout the UK is beneficial.

Physical Requirements

The job role is physically demanding in that you will need to carry equipment and sampling containers over short distances often in outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
