We are looking for a confident, innovative and enthusiastic person to join our Red Squirrel Team. The purpose of the role is to oversee grey squirrel management planning, contract delivery and monitoring to defined red squirrel conservation needs.
Responsibilities include representing the RSNE project including delivering talks to the public and liaising with landowners and other stakeholders and recruiting new landowners to promote the benefits of environmental grant schemes. You will manage a portfolio of Countryside Stewardship (CS) grant contracts (claims, reporting, data records, mapping, work delivery coordination, invoicing etc.)
You will be required to conduct woodland surveys (vegetation & squirrels), draw up landowner conservation strategies for red squirrels, manage contracts and contractors for conservation delivery, organise and supervise volunteer activities and tasks (e.g. surveys) and undertake engagement activities through social media and presentations
The post is offered initially on a 12 month contract with any extension dependent on further funding.
The role is for 35 hours a week. The salary starts at £23,400 to £26,312 per annum
