About the role

This role is a great opportunity for a highly organised and resilient individual to progress their administration career. As the Executive Assistant (EA) to support our Executive Director (ED) for People & Organisational Development, you will report to our Bristol Hub Manager, and be part of the Hub team, on occasion providing holiday cover there.

This is a part time role, due to the working pattern of our ED, Tuesday – Thursday must be covered, but we are flexible on hours worked.

As the EA to the Exec Director, you will support the day-to-day activities of the Executive Director, People & OD, Tuesday – Thursday each week; providing proactive Executive Assistant support, ensuring the Executive Director is well-informed and time is given to priority activities (including diary management, management of email and other correspondence, organisation and administration of the ED's travel and expenses).

You will work with the Executive Director and the senior People & OD team to ensure the effective operation of team working and delivery of priorities; undertaking projects as part of the People and OD business plan.

We offer hybrid working at Sustrans with the flexibility to work from home and our Bristol hub at least 1 day per week. Candidates should be based within commutable distance to our hub base in Bristol.

About you

With a calm and professional manner, you will be an exceptionally organised individual. You will use these skills to actively apportion time and resources to priority activities and relationships for the ED; drawing from your previous experience in supporting high-level decision making groups ideally with in an HR or People oriented setting.

You must be a clear and effective communicator, able to efficiently disseminate communications at all levels.

A high level of attention to detail is required allowing you to take minutes effectively and handle complex business information (e.g. Management/Board papers, KPIs). You will be able to write reports and be competent in the use of spreadsheets, smartsheets and similar information management software, and full support and training in our systems will be provided.
