Can you enable children and families to explore, learn about and take action for nature? Can you inspire and support people trying to make a difference for people and wildlife? If so, this could be the job for you...

We are looking a motivated and experienced playworker or environmental educator to join our Community & Engagement team as our Family & Early Years Lead. In this role you will take a lead role in developing and delivering our work with young families and the organisations supporting them. This includes running My Wild Child sessions for toddlers, supporting Wildlife Watch nature clubs, and creating resources and training opportunities that enable more children and families to connect with nature and take action to protect it.

If you are highly skilled in developing and leading nature-based play and learning, can understand and work with others to overcome barriers to accessing nature, and can inspire and motivate people from different backgrounds across the Bristol area, we want to hear from you. You’ll need a full driving licence, and be willing to work some evenings and weekends.

Avon Wildlife Trust is a charity dedicated to working with local people for local wildlife, covering the West of England region (former county of Avon). It is supported by more than 17,500 members, manages over 30 nature reserves and is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts in the UK. We want to see nature restored on a grand scale across the Avon region, with one in four people taking action for wildlife.

The Wildlife Trusts value diversity. We are committed to creating a movement that recognises and truly values individual differences and identities. We actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and cultures.

This role is 4 days a week, and is a 1-year fixed-term contract.
