Above sector average pay, commensurate with experience
Based in Oxford
Bioscan is one of the longest established consultancies specialising in applied ecology and has an enviable reputation for quality, integrity, fierce independence and punching above its weight. Clients are drawn from the commercial, public, charity and voluntary sectors and our work covers the full diversity of projects from ecological impact assessment, through protected species licensing and mitigation to conservation commissions, research, expert witness work and habitat management. Employee satisfaction is very high and staff turnover very low.
Due to a burgeoning workload, we are now looking to fill one or more senior positions. Candidates will be expected to have several years of quality experience in the sector and can enjoy high degree of autonomy on project management, surveys, report writing and client liaison. A high standard of field skills in one or more of botany, ornithology, invertebrates or protected species is anticipated as well as demonstration of a high-standard of written outputs, data assimilation, responsibility and client care. Skills in IT (especially CAD and/or QGIS) would also be an advantage.
In return, successful candidates will join a small, friendly team of ten staff based in rural surroundings just outside Oxford and will benefit from generous pension provision, staff socials, flexibility in working arrangements and being in a highly regarded practice that is often at the cutting edge.
