We have a number of vacancies for self employed surveyors to join our dedicated team for ground survey of oak trees for oak processionary moth nests. Work starts 13th June, 40 hours a week for an expected 10-12 weeks, with the possibility of extension. Our winter survey is also open to those who survey with us in summer, and potential opportunities to survey for other tree pests and diseases on behalf of the Forestry Commission at other times of the year.

£120 a day/ £15 an hour. Access to own vehicle is required. Mileage payable beyond 25 miles each way 45p/mile. You should have your own self employed public liability insurance and provide 8 x42 binocs, hand held GPS and smart phone.

Comprehensive training is provided throughout the first week. You will be working in a small dedicated team, with lone working occasionally required. Applicants should be fit, practical, reliable and dedicated with a good eye for detail and experienced working outdoors. Environmental qualification desirable but not essential.
