Modern agricultural practices are a key driver for widespread biodiversity loss. According to the State of Nature Report 2019, since 1970 there has been a 41% decrease in wildlife abundance, a 54% decline in farmland birds and 97% wildflower meadows and species rich grassland have been lost in the last century. In 2018 10% of the EU’s total greenhouse gas emissions were linked to agriculture. With 70% of our countryside being farmland, the way in which it is managed has never been more critical.

The Organic Research Centre (ORC) is the UK’s leading independent research charity focusing on the development and promotion of sustainable, agroecological solutions to food, farming and environmental issues. ORC aims to change how we farm by translating its research into real world application, providing farmers with a wealth of easily accessible resources and events that will help them deliver nature friendly farming.

At this pivotal time, we are looking to appoint a Senior Fundraising Officer – Trusts & Foundations (G7) to join our team to develop and implement the fundraising strategy for securing donations from charitable Trusts and Foundations.

The successful candidate must have previous experience in a senior fundraising role and in securing high value donations, building successful relationships with charitable Trusts and Foundations, creating and delivering written proposals, and be comfortable working independently and with the wider team to identify potential fundraising opportunities.

Please note, this is a full-time position to be primarily based from our office in Cirencester however, hybrid working arrangements are currently being followed and flexible working patterns and/or home-working would be considered for the right applicant. In addition we offer a generous holiday entitlement of 25 days excluding public holidays and a NEST pension scheme which matches contributions on a like-for-like basis up to 5% gross salary.
