Community Windpower is at the forefront of wind energy development in the UK with over 1GW of renewable energy in their portfolio containing onshore wind farms that are built, under construction and in development. As renewable energy specialists, we are fully experienced in the identification, design, development, construction and operation of onshore wind energy projects.
We have a new opportunity for a candidate with strong knowledge and experience of using GIS software, AutoCAD and other similar software packages to join our Company. Their primary role will be to produce technical drawings and plans which will be used in the development and construction process for our renewable energy projects such as wind farms, solar farms, battery storage projects as well as residential property development.
Candidates must have a degree in a relevant subject (e.g. GIS, civil engineering or similar), and also a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a GIS assistant or technician for a similar company, focused on renewable energy, construction or property development. Experience of using AutoCAD is required along with experience of using vehicle tracking software to complete swept path analysis.
The GIS Assistant will support our Project Development, Civils and Technical Teams providing them with the plans and drawings as required to support the various stages of our projects from site identification, design and construction and for inclusion in reports and Environmental Impact Assessments. Support will also be given to the Commercial & Legal Team in relation to landownership plans.
The GIS Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining and managing our GIS datasets, shapefiles, mapping which will also include database management. Training will also be provided to the successful candidate to increase their involvement in the development of our renewable energy projects.
The position is full time and is based at our Head Office in Frodsham, Cheshire.
Key skills and requirements:
Our projects are located in the UK, therefore a valid and clean driving license is essential to travel to these locations to attend meetings, undertake assessments and carry out site visits.
