You will be joining a wider Sustainability and Development team with a specific focus on sustainable development, securing sustainable growth within an innovative and evolving salmon farming sector.

About the role

Each Development Officer role will be responsible for the delivery of defined sustainable development projects which will contribute towards the company’s ambitions. You will work on projects from early feasibility through to planning submission and will have the opportunity to work collaboratively across a multi-disciplinary business, with in-house technical expertise and external consultants where necessary.

Educated to degree level or above in a scientific or environmental discipline, candidates are expected to have experience in regulatory consenting and/or environmental assessment. Excellent regulator and stakeholder engagement will form a key part of the role. A proven record of project delivery and experience of the Environmental Impact Assessment process is desirable but candidates without this experience may be considered. A formal qualification in EIA and experience of using GIS software would be advantageous but not essential.

The successful candidate will divide their time between office work and travel to our various locations across Scotland. They will enjoy contributing and communicating as part of a team and will be practical and computer literate with excellent communication skills.

The post will be based at Barcaldine, by Oban and will require short periods working at our company locations across Scotland, including the west coast of Argyll and Highland, Orkney and Shetland. Alternative work locations will be considered.
