Background Information

Working within the Operational Team which comprises of a Forester, Works Supervisor and Forest Craftsperson covering Kent to maximise the value of the nation's forests for the benefit of people, nature and the economy on the Kent Beat by using a full range of practical forestry and countryside skills.

Forest Management and Estates duties including, but not exclusively;

  • Planting and beating up 
  • Mechanical weeding and cleaning of restock sites
  • Fencing
  • Tree Felling
  • Maintenance of gates and barriers

Recreation Facility Maintenance duties including, but not exclusively;

  • Vegetation cutting
  • Installation and repair of signs, picnic tables and other fixtures
  • Litter picking

Conservation and Heritage Maintenance including, but not exclusively;

  • Vegetation cutting on designated SAMS
  • Vegetation cutting in conservation areas


  • Inventory surveys
  • Tariffing for sales parcels 
  • Pest and disease surveys
