Do you want a job where you are working to make the world a better place? Are you a team player with excellent attention to detail, great people skills and a flair for writing and communications? Have you gained practical experience in sustainability projects in the UK or internationally and in working with senior staff? If so, you could be the perfect person to join our team.

Bioregional is an entrepreneurial charity working at the cutting edge of sustainability. Our work on delivering real-life eco-friendly communities and enterprises has changed policy and influenced best practice in the UK and around the world. We employ 30 people, have a turnover of £1.4 million in the UK and work with an international network of Bioregional organisations and associates.

We are seeking a Project Officer to support and work with our Chief Executive. The Project Officer works most closely with the CE but also interacts with the wider staff team and trustees. The postholder will have delegated responsibility for particular projects and their budgets as and when they arise. It’s important that you want to help and support our Chief Executive, she will need to be able to rely on you. But the role is equally one of working with our CE on projects and partnerships and so offers a broad and exciting development role.

Every year is different. Activities and priorities for the CE and post holder in the coming months, working with the wider team, will include: working with communities to build truly affordable sustainable homes in London and the south east; supporting local authorities to respond to the climate and ecological emergency using Bioregional’s One Planet Living framework; influencing wider change and policy by working with networks and international initiatives to implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals; and strategic, organisation-wide activities such as annual business planning.

Currently, due to COVID19, the role is based at home, but we have created a supportive team atmosphere digitally. Usually, the role will be based at our offices at BedZED eco-village in Hackbridge, South London 30 minutes by train from London Victoria or Blackfriars, so you will need to live within travelling distance of this office. The post is full time and permanent.

Bioregional is committed to increasing diversity within our organisation, and the environmental sector as a whole. We welcome applications from everyone, whatever your age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.
